Please join us for these events as we celebrate International Education Week at MCC! 

Tuesday, Nov 19:

  • 11 am to 12: 15 pm, Room 11-107, Brighton Campus: Fulbright scholars from the UR Warner School of Education will present in Professor Matt Fox's class about teaching in their countries and what they have observed about teaching in the US. 
  • 12 Noon to 1:30 pm, Forum Room 3-130, Brighton Campus: A panel and discussion of adoption awareness. 

Wednesday, Nov 20:

  • 10:30 to 11:15 am, 2nd Floor of Downtown Campus: Speed Travel at the Downtown Campus 2nd floor. Learn about countries around the world from students in our ESOL program. 
  • 11:30 am to 1 pm, Empire Room, Brighton Campus: Deliberative Dialogue on UN Sustainable Development Goal #1 - No Poverty. Register for Deliberative Dialogue.
    • Poverty impacts individual and community development. According to the United Nations, current trends indicate approximately 575 million people living in extreme poverty by 2030. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, child poverty has more than doubled in the last year in the U.S. How can we address global poverty and promote individual and community development? Join us for an exploratory discussion about global poverty, its impacts, and how to create just and meaningful opportunities for individuals and community development.

Visiting journalists from Armenia will talk about their work in radio and media and lessons they learned about news media in the US while working with WXXI. Meet us in Professor Joe Scanlon's class in room 6-327.

GeoGuesser game with MCC's Mapping Club

GeoGuessr Live! Do you have what it takes to find your location anywhere in the world? In GeoGuessr, that’s exactly the goal. You are placed onto a road anywhere in the world and must use the clues around you to guess where you are in the world. The closer your guess, the higher your score! There will be prizes for the winners! C’mon - let’s travel the world!

Global Opportunities

Learn about global opportunities for faculty and staff.  We will discuss high impact designations, COIL, Cornell's Internationalization Fellowships, fellowships through CAORC, Fulbright specialist opportunities, and a new program with SUNY Oswego to develop faculty led programs to Taiwan and South Korea in the semiconductor industry.
